Re: Resource Loader - CSS Embed[editar código]
Thanks for the tip!. I'll try, but I suspect that won't work for images with absolute URL (which are all that we use in our custom stylesheets), since the server would need to request the image, save it on a temporary folder and encode it to embed on the stylesheet. Something a bit complex that may not be feasible to do on the servers.
The other option is to embed them manually on the stylesheet. Yes, that's something we've already implemented on some of them. --Ciencia Al Poder ¿Algo que decir? 09:52 22 may 2013 (UTC)
Re: User migration[editar código]
Hello there! :) I'm using a modified version of mw:Extension:MediaWikiAuth. MediaWikiAuth works creating the account on login, but I have a different approach where the user accounts are already created (as stubs on the user table, with only user id and name), and only in this case does the authentication agains wikia, filling the user password. I did it differently to prevent users from creating new accounts with existing user names (which MediaWiki auth doesn't seem to prevent) that haven't been reclaimed yet.
I plan to release the source code as an extension, maybe adding this option to MediaWikiAuth so it has both working modes, but I still need to cleanup the code.
Ah, about wiki migration, I've used and improved mw:Manual:Grabbers so it works reliably on latest MediaWiki version. I also have pending to submit a patch with all my changes to it (current version is a mess and very fragile). If you need them I can share them with you without problems. I had to do with grabbers because wikia dumps were incomplete (large wikis had dumps truncated, although apparently they fixed that this August), and also the existing method to import an XML dump is very buggy (importDump can error out easily if dump has duplicates, etc), and MWDumper may be even worse. --Ciencia Al Poder ¿Algo que decir? 20:46 11 sep 2017 (UTC)
